What’s channel-selective Bi-Directional Amplifier (BDA)?

UHF-BDA(1)A BDA (Bi–Directional Amplifier) is an RF signal booster used to improve radio communications in situations where radio signal levels are degraded due to obstacles in the radio path. They are available in a number of variants to suit the communications situation, this includes integrated and distributed configurations and band and channel select options.

A channel-selective Bi-Directional Amplifier (BDA) boosts specific individual radio frequency channels rather than an entire wide frequency band. It filters and amplifies exact frequencies for public safety or critical communication networks, preventing background noise and stopping interference with nearby cell towers.

Channel Selective BDAs allows the user to amplify only desired carriers in both directions, uplink and downlink.

Key Features
Narrow Filtering: Targets small bandwidths (such as 25 kHz channels) to isolate exact user frequencies.

Noise Reduction: Stops wideband noise from overloading the main base station.
Programmable Control: Lets techs set and tune specific channels using software or local ports.

Dual Path Action: Cleans and boosts signals going up to the tower (uplink) and down to users (downlink).

Excellent RF Performance: Band/Channel-Selective modules provide high rejection of unwanted, interfering signals.

Aluminum-alloy casing with IP65 protection has high resistance to dust, water and corroding.

RS232 or RJ45 port provides a link to a notebook for local supervision or to the built-in wireless modem to communicate with the NMS (Network Management System) that can remotely supervise repeater’s working status and download operational parameters to the repeater.

Public Safety: Enhances police and fire radio inside large concrete or steel buildings.Indoor or Outdoor expand signal coverage or fill signal blind area.
Tunnels and Transit: Fills dead zones underground or in remote valleys.
Private Radio: Supports systems like P25, DMR, and TETRA without causing network feedback.
